Concord is a city in the U.S. state of North Carolina. As of 2000, the city had a population of 55,977. ] It is the county seat of Cabarrus County and a winner of the All-America City Award in 2004. The city of Concord is also the fourth largest city in the Charlotte Metropolitan Area, behind the city of Rock Hill. Located near the center of Cabarrus County, it is twenty miles (32 km) northeast of Uptown Charlotte.
