Perdue: Textile, Furniture Jobs Returning To North Carolina

Davidson County, NC -- Textiles and furniture jobs could once again drive our job market,at least in some smaller towns around here. At a Small Town Summit at Davidson County Community College, Governor Bev Perdue pronounced the jobs are coming back from China. "The good news is we're getting our industries back and we've been a part of that, the bad news is they're leaner and meaner," pronounced Gov. Perdue. The governor says which while the jobs are coming back, there won't be as many of them. That's because more of the manufacturing is automated, which means the companies need fewer people to get the job done. It turns out consumers are looking for better quality.
